I'm tired of feeling second-rate. I began this blog to interact with the broader Christian community, and I realized something yesterday. If you don't offer anything to interact with, people don't interact!
Wow! Genius, right? I've only had three stellar bloggers whacking me over the head with different versions of that information for months now.
I was skimming through Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover today; a library patron requested it and I was doing some quality assurance reading :) He suggests that the number-one reason most people fail at financial planning is because they don't do any planning with their financials. Or, as presidential candidate Sen. Fred Thompson once said in The Hunt for Red October, "Son, the Russians don't take a [BM] without a plan." Planning is the key to victory! (I guess it didn't work out so well for the Soviets, but in this case the exception proves the rule).
So here's my plan.
Monday - Prayer and Thoughts from the weekly assembly
Tuesday - The Sports Page - thoughts and gripes about Yankees and Dodgers baseball, Alabama football, UK basketball (I live here, okay!), as well as NFL or NASCAR if the mood strikes.
Wednesday - Poetry and Metaphor - interesting fruits of Lectio
Thursday - Prayers and Thoughts from the midweek gathering
Friday - Nick's Book Report - A weekly book review (that thankfully will not require me to read a new book every week) - This will delve into many different genres, looking for rumors of hope in a world that has moved on.
Saturday - Bizarre Culture Comments
Sunday - Blogging Sabbath
If you have any ideas or suggestions (don't even think of trying to change my sports allegiances! :) ) please feel free to share your wisdom with this humble Fumbler.

Except for failing to list the San Antonio Spurs (your NBA loyalty seems to be up for grabs), it looks pretty good. I'm looking forward to it.

The NBA has done such a "great" job of marketing players that I really struggle to follow one team.
That, and players like Marbury and Bryant make it much easier to pay attention to college basketball.

Go get em man. I usually don't plan because I know I will have to stick to the plan.
LOL Yeah, me too.
I usually rationalize it by suggesting that planning destroys the spontaneity of the Spirit.
But, as I said on Tim's blog yesterday, sometimes the kingdom's power works through traditions, through patterns, through plans. It simply cannot be BOUND by them.
Likewise, I hope to use this forum in a "new wineskin" manner, trying to drink as much wine of the Spirit as I can hold, to share as much as I am able, to trust God to shepherd and restore my soul.

I have a hard time sticking to plans too, but I do try to stick with one. I like you ideas. Looking forward to reading more around here.
